Iraq

My name is SGT. Christian Kapler. I was deployed under Operation Iraqi Freedom in October 2005 and returned home in July 2007. I had tried to keep you updated on what was going with me while in Iraq. Now in this section of the site I will try and tell a short story of my time in Iraq by words and pictures. For now I will tell you a little bit of who I am on the military side. I have been in the military for over 11 years. This is my 3rd deployment. All of my deployments have been in what is called the sandbox (Middle East).

WHY I DO WHAT I DO.

Lets start out with the word of GOD. 1 John 3:16 We know what love is by this, that He laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethern. I believe that this life I have is not mine but GOD's. If I am able to live free why shouldn't others be able to also.

DVD LIBRARY

While over in Iraq one of the things I was doing is trying to make life easier on my

fellow soldiers. I came up with an idea that seemed to be really well received by my

fellow soldiers. The help that I got from people back here was good too. The people

back here were the ones that made it possible. You are asking what it is That I am

talking about. Well I came up with the idea to create a movie library so that my fellow

soldiers would have something to watch on their down time to relax and unwind.

Some brought some movies with but they have watched them 3 or 4 times. Creating this library allows them to watch movies they hadn't seen yet. Along with others being able to watch them as well since the library was available to the entire battalion. My dad had a great deal with making it a success. There are still a couple of clips out there about the DVD library.
